My 8 year old daughter has decided to start a blog and made her first post tonight. She's actually been asking me for some time if she could do it and I finally consented. I helped her put it together and with spelling, but she put the content in herself. She really enjoys writing (that's one of the things her teachers like about her) and she is giddy with excitement about getting to have her own page. Feel free to check it out here. If you leave a comment she'd be thrilled.

What is wrong with you?

Make her make a list of things to do before someone is 18. I'd love to see what she says. though I hope there are strong parental controls somehow.

Heather, if she knows you blog and she knows how to search will she find it through searching 'cheeks' and Treo or whatever the name of the thing you give customer service for (it's not personal that I"m not remembering it, it's just old age).

You should perhaps allow anonymous posts? Jeez, now I'm starting to worry she'll read my blog too! Oh, perhaps if I post that it's R-rated she'll know not to read.

The apple doesn't fall far from the blogger.

Heather - No worries. She doesn't know her login info, so I'll be with her whenever she's on.

Q - Elephantitis

Nore - I think that's a great idea! She likes it too. She's planning to post it on Tuesday.

Churlita - I'm curious to see what she writes about too.

Dags, this is just like those pageant moms who have to live vicariously through their children because their own days of living in the spot-light are long gone.

Okay, you've taught her to blog. now can you teach her not to play with her food?

Half of me agrees with Q and Cyber D in a facetious sort of way.

The other half thinks of all the parents I know who wouldn't bother to encourage their kids' creativity like this, and wins.

Awesome.

I will make sure I check it out and comment for little Dagrommia! And yeah, what NoR said!

Cyber D - Are you making words up now?

Goo - I think you know that she has exquisite manners. She even says, "excuse me" when she farts.

Kofi - I know what you mean. I think she's a bright kid, and I refuse to teach her to live in fear. Caution and scepticism, yes. Fear, no.

Tera - She'll be really happy. She's been checking every day and reading everyone's comments. She has her list of 6 things to do before your 18 ready to post this evening.

Make sure you put a link to her blog on yours so we don't lose her...

Just when I thought I knew what the blogverse had to offer!

That list--I LOVE. I wish I had come up with #5 on my list because that's EXACTLY what I want to do right now, and I don't even care that I'm at work!!

Nore - I don't put just anybody in my sidebar. Take note Gus Bladder.

Alan - Thanks. I thought it was good to.
