All I Want For Christmas

...is the next Harry Potter book. In the mean time I will accept the newest HP movie. In this time of national tension due to the current war I wonder when we will call upon Dumbledore's Army to clean up the mess that we've made.

After the last book dropped the ball so badly, I'm nervous about the next one. Can it live up to narrative that the previous books had, and still finish things satisfactorily?

I felt like the last book was a checklist of little items that had to get done to setup the final book.

I didn't feel like it dropped the ball. I'm sure there were a number of things that Jo felt she had to get in there, but it didn't necessarily all seemed forced. Jo rarely has things in her book for no purpose. So in my mind I expect that every chapter has a goal. Now we might not always no what it is until later on, but there is a reason never the less. It was tougher read, because you knew something bad was going to happen. You just didn't know when or where. I trust that the last book will be good because she tends to stray from convention and I think she takes pride in her originality. Also don't forget that this is the book that she's been looking forward to writing for several years now. I don't think that she will short change herself.

I don't think it was the best book. I still like The Goblet of Fire best but I would put it above Chamber and Azkaban in terms of my enjoyment of the story. The only thing that didn't have the impact it was supposed to have with me was D's death. Dags and I had talked many times about the future of the story as early as the release of Azkaban and we both kind of predicted D would die. It felt important to the overall development of Harry and the storyline. It should have been more shocking. Instead the only thing shocking about it was how and by whome.

Luckily D could not physically take advantage of any other young men where he went.

D was a Pedo? I've got to go re-read those things.

Yeah, it was totally evident in book 4. Why do you think he and Harry got along so well?

You're wrong to blaspheme like that Q. This is Hogwarts no the Vatican.

Dude, the Hogwarts mantra is "The place where young wizards can't say no". It's on the books in invisible ink...untraceable

I'm waiting for the invention of erasable invisible ink. Because there's nothing worse than making an invisible mistake and not being able to correct it.
