Good Bye, Good Friend
I hate times like this. Today I found out that a good friend of mine has passed on. I had that weird feeling when I was getting ready this morning, and if I had known then that it had happened I probably wouldn't have gone in to work today.
Around midday was when I found out. I sat at my desk and looked down at my cell phone which was blinking. I knew it was bad news. I picked it up and pushed the button. My heart dropped immediately when I found out what had happened. I couldn't believe it. I slammed my phone against the desk out of despair, but nothing was going to help. I've mentioned this friend once or twice on this blog, but I suppose this will be the last time. This time I say good bye and let you know that you'll be missed.
My LG Mint Chocolate phone has rung it's last. It has crashed and gone to wherever it is that cell phones go when they die. I feel like I lost a great opportunity to talk more with it when it was still alive. That's the way it always is with these things, I guess.
If anyone would like to say a goodbye you may do so in the comments.

Good bye LG Mint phone. May you rest in peace.
Are you practicing the phases of grief - anger, denial, vodka, coke and hookers?
Goodbye, LG mint phone.
What other metrosexual phone are you going to pick up to replace it?
My condolences.
Cell phones are just temps. We didn't get to have this talk in your youth; they didn't exist then. Go ahead and cry. Get over it!
Adios Mint.
I assume you'll be burying it in the backyard next to Murray the hamster, Krupps the dead coffee maker, and the pile of Bic lighters that don't work anymore either.
i'm not a cell phone user. never have been but i sympathize with you.
saying goodbye to anything 'mint chocolate' can't be easy.
Churlita - Unfortunately no. My dealer has been shot so I can't get any coke. My dealer and my phone in the same week!!! Can life get any worse?
Gus Bladder - Ha! You're funny. Not really. I meant that sarcastically.
Kofi - Thank you. It still hurts and I'm constantly feeling the effects. I'll miss my cancer causing friend.
Lit - I've been crying nonstop.
Plug - No, I'm sending it back for scientific research.
Heather - I tries to find a suitable picture for this post by searching images under the category "mint chocolate death" but nothing good came up. Although I think that's what I'm going to call my next band.
First the important stuff--Heather, I love the icon. I want to make a quilt just like it.
Dagg--I believe your best method of pulling it together before moving on would be to bury your nose in a box of Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies. Unfortunately, Oyster has already delivered most of her orders (if dropping the load at her dad's store and having the customers come and get it qualifies as delivery).
jaz, thanks! i was hoping someone would mention it. :-) it's one of those pieces i make using the paint accessory i make at work. i've posted a couple of them. it helps pass the time. i crochet sometimes too.
dags, i'm telling you. there is no such thing as a good mint chocolate death.
don't you think mint chocoloate death ice cream would be good?
ps - jaz, if you can make a quilt like that I would loovvee to see it. I would love to also but it's beyond my ability/patience.
Jaz - First the important thing. Me and my grief far outweigh the importance of Heather's avatar.
Secondly, the Girl Scout Cookie fund raiser has to be the single most succesful annual fund raising event ever. That and I love thin mints. At least for the first half box. The second half is always a little tough for me to get through.
Heather - I was hoping someone would mention it too.......just not while I'm grieving. Bad form.
Nore - I think it would be a good name for a covert operation that the Girl Scouts might perform.
Nore - I apologize that there seems to be some sort of confusion and my blog is being mistaken for the Better Homes and Gardens or Country Living website. I'm ordering a "Cease and Desist" right now.
dags, you're just jealous that my new avatar is garnering more positive attention than your new avatar. ;-)
Heather - Oh yeah??? Well......nuh uh!!!! So.........so there!
not for nothing but you may want to ask taz for some comebacks.
just sayin...
No, D, don't demean the art form. I'm not talking kitchy stuff. Heather's design is high art! Artists do not recognize cease and desist orders.
I've been checking my reference books and I don't find the phrase, "cease and desist," anywhere.
Heather, my quilting skills far outdistance my computer skills. Any way I could see a larger pic of the avatar? I seriously think it would be a gorgeous quilt.
Nor--I accept commissions. Let me know if you need a quilt made.
Dagg--no apologies for hijacking your thread, but hope you had a great birthday. Anyone give you a new phone as a gift?
nor, i don't know about high art but thank you very much! (no, it's not high as in stoned art either, i do it at work)
jaz, i'll see if i can't make it larger but i honestly think that putting it into paint and allowing paint to show the grid will make this much easier to translate into a quilt pattern. all the blocks will be laid out for you that way. let me know if you need any help.
opps! almost forgot.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR DAGROMM
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUUUUUUUU
This post isn't nearly good enough to be left up at the top of your page for weeks on end. Please post something new. Thank you.
-The management
Cyber D, he is probably pouting because we disobeyed his orders to stay on topic. We are supposed to honor and adore him, not each other's avatars.
My condolences...
For some reason, I can't manage to get Boys II Men out of my head now...
(singing) It's so haaarrrd...to say goodbye...to yesterdaahaayyeee! (Sure thought I could hit that note too!)
But I digress...
Now I can't get, "Those Summer Nights" out of my head. John Travolta thought he could hit that note, too.
jaz, i'm sure we can think of a way to help john hit that note. ;-)
